Flour is commonly sold as plain flour and self raising flour in english speaking countries, whereas only plain flour is available in continental Europe.

  • 500 g flour
  • 30 g baking powder

is equivalent to

  • 500 g self raising flour

This should allow conversion either way, depending on whether you specify self raising flour or flour and baking powder. I suggest just flour always means plain flour.
